Interesting news but pity its so biased in favour of the "intellectual Property" fanatics.
http://www.smh.com.au/news/technology/investigation-into-dj-piracy/2007/11/09/1194329512804.htmlDisk jockeys, along with some of the most popular clubs and bars in Sydney, are the subject of a piracy investigation by the music industry that could lead to significant fines and criminal charges.
Long-time DJs say the shift from vinyl to CDs and laptops has paved the way for a new generation of DJs who cut costs by obtaining music from illegal file-sharing websites. Industry veterans say as many as 90 per cent of the DJs playing in Australian clubs are guilty.
The fact that most DJ's can no longer obtain vinyl or that the guy making the claim has opened up a record label seems rather to undermine his claims and shows just how easy it is to make news up that can be repeated by the mainstream media who have a vested interest in protecting their own "assets".
