Connects, (green light) and all, but won´t upload.
« on: November 29, 2007, 06:08:46 pm »
Hello. I am new to the forum, but have been a winmx user for many good years.

I would be grateful if anybody can help me with this particular problem. Thanks in advance.

I am connected in a network in my office via a router hg2700, which i administer. Now, i connect
to winmx and i trade, with a max upload speed of 10kb/s. The tcp/udp settings to do this are at
"unable to connect/send..."etc.

Then i used portforward and managed to assign static ip address and correct port numbers into the
equation, and with that i managed to get uploading speeds of over 100kb/s.

Then, one day it stopped working. Today, (with port numbers assigned in botrh router and tcp/udp
settings) winmx connects (you know, green light) users get in my queue, but when i try to start them
the all get timed out. BUT, if i set the winmx tcp/udp ports to "unable to connect/send...", then it
works normal again, only with very low upload speed.

I would very much like to know if someone has had this problem, and how it was solved. Again, thanks in
advance!

-Mark

Double check that the correct IP is entered for the ports you forwarded.Sometimes a power cut or
the pc being shut down abnormally will cause this.

If you dont know already.... click start....click run.... type in      cmd        click OK.... in the black box
that appears, type in            ipconfig       and hit enter.... take note of the IP thats displayed and close
that box...... enter your router settings and make sure thats the IP you have in your rules.

First of all, thank you kindly. Tried to change the ip address in the router, but i did not found where
to do it. I will continue to look-

The strangest thing happened- i changed the ip address in the router, on the wide band section,
and that cut off internet service, so i had to reset the router, which in fact detected winmx, configured the ports to the winmx defaults, and now it works! Will check speed....
