Downloading

Hi my problem is i cann`t download from anyone. When it gets to my turn to d/l i cann`t connect ,it just turns red. I have no probs with people uploading from me.I have no probs with my laptop which is on the same LAN. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but the same thing happens.I`m on windows 2000 using zone alarm and AVG. any help will be much appreciated as it is driving me crazy .Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.PS it only started about 3 weeks ago,up till then every thing was fine.i switched off one night and when i restarted that's when it happened.

Your ports are probably wrongly configured...

You need to forward ports in your router that you got from your ISP
Go to www.portforward.com and see your router model there in the router's section.
A tutorial will be given there on how to forward ports for winmx there
Port defaults are:
TCP 6699
UDP 6257
You can forward ports for any other number you might like.
Sonce you have two computers, I'd recommend that you change the port numbers.

After you have done so, go to winmx>settings>Incoming TCP and set the option to listen to port xxxx (the port number you forwarded for TCP)

Same for winmx>settings>UDP in out. Again set the option to listen to xxxx (the UDP port number you forwarded)

You should then be able to connect to primary. Check if your download and uploads run ok and if you get search results and chatroom results.
