Since I got new computer (using Vista) I can no longer download. I checked to make sure WinMX is allowed through the firewall, I am able to search and select music and it seems as if it goes to download. However, as soon as it goes to the download screen the selections turn red and nothing downloads.

and check that your router if a old 1 works with vista and doesn't need the firmwear updating

Sounds like your firewall is blocking connections you can check for this by turning your firewall off for a while and checking if connections are being made if this is the case then please check out the site below it should help on configuration

thought id post here rather than open another for you guys to filter through ok on winmx 3.54 and running windows xp home on the bt home hub router forwarded ports to alow uploads since forwarding ports tcp i can now upload yay now the downfall have do i get he bloody thing to alow me to download again lol worked fine before i forwarded the ports

Are you using the latest patch ( new as of july 07).... avalable from the link below

Also worth a visit to here to check your ports are forwarded properly just select your router/modem model and follow the instructions (would seem they need reconfiguring to allow both ways)

been on port forward.com all seems to be ok have the latest patch just checked saw the screen so shoud have it am out of ideas

have you rebooted after making any changes?
what security are you using ?
Its possible a firewall is blocking if you've done the above & still no luck (give it a try with firewall turned off to determin if this is the case)
also what isp & o/system are you using ?

Thanks to all who responded to my problem. I checked everything and it seemed as if it was all correct. I uninstalled and reinstalled the latest patch (I had the previous patch). IT WORKS!!!! I'm happy now! Merry Xmas to all!
