I was offline for about a month, and when i got back online Windows downloaded a bunch of updates. Everything was fine with WinMX until I rebooted. Since then, unable to connect at all. Tried to restore to a previous point in time, but for some reason, the restore fails.

It has nothing to do with my Norton because WinMX was still working after the Norton updates were installed and the computer rebooted for the first time...

Any clue as to what happened?

FYI, Windows Vista, Norton 360, WinMX 3.54 patched 3.0.

I would try and download the patch again and install it. Re open winmx and post back and let me know. Check and make sure winmx is also allowed through the firewall.

Wow. So simple and obvious I never even thought to check. My firewall settings HAD somehow changed to 'custom' instead of 'allow'... Fixed that, and it worked. Don't understand how my updates went and modified my own settings???
