[ES] Eagle Server simple setup
« on: February 12, 2008, 10:10:17 pm »
well i know there isnt much help out there for this so i thought some of you need to know how to get it working.

lets start at the basics......

Files that come with it are.....
Config.txt
ES208.exe
guida config.txt
Motd.txt
language.txt
language.txt[Eng]

lets first start of gettin your ES into a english language file (if your not italian that is)
Rename the Language.txt[Eng] to language.txt (a good tip before doing this is to rename the lang text file to somthing like language2.txt) once you have done this your room will now be ready to roll.

lets now look at the config.txt file, ill only be pointing out the easy stuff to get your room up and running

/channelname roomname
/channelname1 name1
/channelname2 name2
/channelname3 name3
/topic a topic
/topic1 topic1
/topic2 topic2
/topic3 topic3
/motd .\n..\n...\n....\n.....\n a motd

as you can see this server can host 3 rooms from one hash # as well it can have 3 separate topics but for easy sake ill be showing you only one.

for only one room in the winmx listing delete these lines from the config.
/channelname2 name2
/channelname3 name3
/topic2 topic2
/topic3 topic3

then edit the
/channelname roomname
/channelname1 name1
to your channelname EG. Sulphys Test room (both need to be the same)
also do the same with your topic.
now for the motd there are 2 ways in which this can be done....personally i prefer the txt file way

so in your config delete "/motd .\n..\n...\n....\n.....\n a motd" (ill cover that in a min)

now for use of admin in your room u need to setup a password
/mklogin 150 password+
/mklogin 230 password@
edit this to meet your needs (Eg. /mklogin 230 imatoughpassword)

/nodes 3 -- edit this to be 6 EG /nodes 6
/port 6698 -- Remember to allow this in your firewall or change it to meet your needs but remember not to make it the same as your winmx.

okies this covers the most easy bits to get you up and running.....later ill be posting a full guide on all functions and settings.

Happy hosting n hope this helps some of u noobie hosts out there.

well now i know why there is a preview post button.. i missed out the MOTD part didnt i ....

okies in the file motd.txt is a gr8 picture of a eagle but for your room u may fancy sonthing different.

open it up n delete that ASCII pic and replace it with your choice of motd.

its far easy to setup than using the /motd /n/n/n..a motd

unless you want too then remove this line /loadmotd
