The reality exposed folks, far from being broke and ready to go under due to copyright infringement they are in fact doing very well.
http://www.p2pnet.net/story/15386Despite harassing their customers with bogus threats and lawsuits and saying they’re, “stealing music”, and false claims that file sharing is killing the music industry, the BPI (British Phonographic Industry) publicly states the labels do in fact sell more CDs today than they did 10 years ago.
BPI ‘members’ include Warner Music Group, EMI, Sony BMG, and Universal Music Group.
During an interview with BPI rep Matt Philips (right) and music critic Neil McCormick, BBC News reported CD sales are in a “downward spiral”.
But, Philips responded (see video below), “We do in fact sell more CDs than we did ten years ago, and I suspect there’ll be a lot of albums sold on CD [in future] as well.”
Its pleasing to see these ppl contradict themselves year after year, lets hope the situation stays as it is, after all a fair balance of sampling/previewing something before they make a purchase is all folks have ever asked for, would any of you buy a car or a washing machine unseen?
Why should music be any different.
