Important - Fake WinMX Versions in Circulation

Folks there have been a few reports of fake versions of WinMX doing the rounds, upon investigation most are found to be some other program with added malware/spyware, for this reason we will be adding the patches MD5 hashes to the download page to help folks identify which versions are genuine.

To check the hashes on any file simply install this useful free tool that has been serving me well for years

This tool is very simple to use, you merely right click on a file and select "Properties" to view the hash tab.


Rememeber folks that using simple tools like this and common sense methods such as scanning programs before installation with an anti-virus/anti spyware solution of your choice will keep you protected against future problems, better safe than sorry.

Must be winmx is becoming more popular again if they think anything is to be gained from cloning it with these crap progs
