This week is to be remebered as something special, a time to lift the spirits from gloom for filesharing as the good news keeps rolling in
http://www.slyck.com/story1771_The_Pirate_Bay_Sucessfully_Appeals_Italian_BlockThe war against unauthorized file-sharing has taken another bad turn for the entertainment industry today, as The Pirate Bay appears to have won their appeal in Italy. If you've been following along you'll remember that a judge in Italy ordered a nationwide block of the Swedish BitTorrent tracker in August of this year. The Italian crackdown on The Pirate Bay was preceded by the shutdown of Colombo-BT, one of the largest trackers in the country.
Pirate Bay spokesperson Peter Sunde exclaims, "The Pirate Bay won the case in Italy. The lawyers have done a fantastic job!" News on this matter is very fresh, however, the order which grants the appeal is available.
This is great news for Italian filesharers, the Bay folks seem to also be hitting the headlines with the 14 million peers notice published earlier on this week, my only concern is the usual one of placing too many eggs in one basket , but thats a thought for another day I think.
