If you’re still longing for the days of high quality MP3s and a solid community to hang out with, it appears that 3 years of brooding have finally done the WinMX community some good. WinMXWorld.com, a leading WinMX community dedicated to reviving, maintaining, and furthering the network, has designed a very reliable method for connecting to the WinMX network. The method for reconnecting is rather simple: a redesigned DLL redirects the WinMX client to their own cache server farm, instead of WinMX.com. This is a virtually identical design as the initial WinMX resurrection attempts, however 3 years of community-building has changed the ballgame completely.

The days of waiting, only to be followed by an unresourceful network, appear to be over.

Yet another great story and one close to our heart here of course from Slyck Tom.

I think Tom has judged the mood on winmx correctly, whilst there is no drama and we are all having fun, we are in fact rebuilding bridges as a community using lessons learned in the last years or two, learned the hard way unfortunately, its great to know others are watching the networks progress with an open mind and a positive word or two.

It's a shame though that he didn't mention the effective fake files blocking which in my view far negates WinMX's lower userbase numbers of other programs. What good is having 50 people to choose from instead of 30 if you can't be sure that the file is even real or is an intentionally-damaged copy?

Don't worry Cobra a few points such as you mention where discussed further on Slycks forum, the user-base count for one was out by a factor of at least ten or more, have a further read here.
