Author Topic: New ISP's router connects but no searches return no download/upload files (Read 1411 times)

Changed ISP because of 'blocking' my Winmx connection. Winmx worked (when not blocked) on my old router, Thomson Speedtouch 510v6, although I had some library problems (incomplete files) caused by Vista that I could not cure. New router Thomson Speedtouch 585v7, firewall disabled also ISP firewall disabled, Avg firewall running as was with my old router. Uninstalled and reinstalled Winmx but was unable to receive incoming or outgoing connections. Reconfigured ports with Portforward, but return no results from any searches as well as nobody is uploading from me. Although I get green light after one minute my Winmx seems lifeless. Help would be much appreciated.

hi there,
you sound like you know what you are talking about so just a short answer that could possibly be the reason... did you correct the static ip on your system after the ISP switch?

Fix that by creating your own downloads folder and copying all your incompletes to there then pointing mx to using that folder to download files to, start MX, go to transfers page and click load incompletes, after that should be no issue over unfinishable incompletes. To add to that I'd like to say Windows bastardised a lot of their default windows system folder shortcuts. Winmx has trouble finding those. If you create an actual folder of your own Winmx just seems to have no problems.
