As you may have noticed the site was having a few "issues" on the previous server, it has been moved to one with a much higher capacity that should be able to cope a bit better... with luck this should mean no more huge downtime problems.

I am curious as to the ammount of traffic the site is actually generating, so have set up some statistics logging... so far it is looking like at least a few thousand hits an hour but i'm not entirely sure of the exact figures, all i know is that the previous server was taking about 20 hits a second from the few sites on it combined... :-S

no, the site is just extremely busy

i now have a complete hours worth of stats on the new server for this site, and wow...

between 6pm and 7pm tonight:

the site had 12086 hits, totaling 74MB of traffic.
the archive also had an additional 1581 hits totaling 259MB of traffic.

oh, and during that period winmxgroup.com also had 8186 hits totaling 31MB of traffic, but that isn't really related

the server is only at a fraction of its capacity, but that is still a lot more than i expected, although generating the stats uses more resources on the server than the actual traffic itself does, lol

i'll have to watch it for a bit to see the daily usage though, as traffic levels do of course vary depending on the time of day

does this affect mxcontrol? That seems a bit broken at the moment.
