"You are downloading from me"

I really can not understand some people.I wait in the queue and download when my time comes.Most of the times i get a msg from the user i'm downloading from "You are downloading from me.....can you please start me".So what am i suppose to do?
Stop the fella(that waited so long in the queue) that is currently downloading from me and then start him just because i am downloading from him? Has winmx become a blackmail/trading p2p?

So is  "I give to you....you give to me or else...."   the way to go?

I truly want your opinion on this issue.Am i overeacting here?

P.S I do not use any additional mx softaware (moni etc).I do not think it is beneficiary to the network,to the individual yes, but not to the Network(apart from blocking the leechers,but who does truly use it just for blocking leechers?).

You can start them if you want. You don't have to stop anyone else's downloads to do that.

The on'e I hate are the: "Start me and I'll start you."  followed by another message "I'm not at my compiuter right now".

Welcome to the forums..

This has always been something that you could find on WinMX, the 'I'm scratching your back, you need to scratch mine' attitude of some users.  There are some reasons folks trade only, most of those are excuses in my book and not good for the Network.  I have to say that if you only are wanting to share with certain individuals then OpenNap would be more suited... IMO.

Monitor is a great tool to use to control uploads, in these days with all thats going on, the need to get folks back to the network.. I just dont use it, unless its set at 1 file.. and thats usually due to other issues I am working on.. not whose downloading from me..

So why all of the sudden is this even more of a problem, well our network is smaller.. from 1.5 million on avg at a time to more like 800k.  And we can assume that alot of the folks that have stuck this our are serious hard core swapers...

No your not over reacting, my response would be "well I waited in your que for this and its only fair that the folks who have waited in mine are treated just as well as you, I dont only share with people  that trade."

So, I have to say in closing No this is not what WinMX was made for, its not what you find in most cases with average users.. so hang in there..

I don't think there is anything wrong for asking someone for a start if they are downloading from you.

I don't stop anyone else from downloading from me that is already going. It just means that someone is going to have to wait in que a little longer.

I don't like the users that give you the old " start me or I will stop you"
I get those all the time. If someone wants to trade, no problem. But I don't like demands

I agree with that, I also find some folks that will start you and let you run until their download is finished then.....
