Downloading problems

I'm having trouble getting some files to download and not others.  Some I can't even get into the que.  I get timed out waiting for network.  Others it says connection aborted.

I have v3.54
windows xp
verizon DSL
secondary connection
belkin router
windows firewall


I'm sharing over 3000 files.

Any idea?
