What is pretty apparent here is this simple common sense rule : Let the consumer hear what your offering and if they like it they will buy it .
Spotify is owned lock stock and barrel by the recording industry and based in Sweden, and they have been allowing folks to hear music before purchasing it, this is good for them and the consumer who has been told in recent years that they have to purchase artists works "on faith", this sort of idiotic mentality helped bring p2p to the fore as folks where able to sample new works and see what they liked without paying for the stuff they didnt want to take a chance on.
Its nice to see the recording industry making some headway to meeting music consumers wishes, however why its taken them 10 years to get their act together is something we will never know.
