With talk from the NZ govt to the effect that they are going to crack down on illicit filesharing are they simply providing advanced warning to those who seek such material to hide their activities in a more efficient way ?
http://www.nzherald.co.nz/anthony-doesburg/news/article.cfm?a_id=280&objectid=10630013The latest attempt to legislate an end to online music and movie piracy will spark an arms race, according to a figure at the centre of New Zealand internet governance.
Pitted against the pirates is the Copyright Amendment Bill, introduced to Parliament last week, which could see them cut adrift by their internet service providers if they don't mend their ways. But according to one source who did not want to be named, that will only encourage the illegal file-sharers to cover their tracks so copyright owners won't be able to identify them.
Pirates and copyright owners are already going at each other with an assortment of weapons.
The fight will continue for sure until a fair and equitable system of payment is delivered and folks are not treated as criminals for enjoying music, most folks I know pay for vast libraries of CD's because they enjoy music, it makes sense to work on a positive system of purchase than simply attacking thos who seek rare, deleted or otherwise impossible to obtain material. It seems the recording and movie mafias are destined to never understand their now ex customers.
