Hello! This is my first post here! Glad to see that WinMX is still here and alive!

Anyway, when I'm searching for mp3's, why is it that the same song that has the same bitrate and length have different file sizes? How can that happen, is it from a scratched cd possibly?

In my experience the difference often comes from things such as different encoding methods and programs and in some cases folks trim the size to the correct one by hand after chopping up a larger file, theres a lot of things that can be tweaked when you start messing with an audio editor program and it is always going to be hard to choose which is the correct size for the file you want.

The best way for obtaining files of the same parentage is to use a hash search as then only fles that match the one your searching for will appear, but of course you,ll need some fragment of the file you want to be able to obtain a hash to search for, anyway good luck

LOL no! relax. I tried to download all of them, and i can. theyr'e real. its the combined effect of different ppl using different mp3 encoders and the interpolation methods being used on scratched cd's

maybe I should have said more,
A Pie 3.6 patch user searching, will see pages of the same file name, often the same bitrate, different users and classicly
these users, sharing these files, will have plenty of upload slots available..
But if your upper left hand corner says "Community Patch 1.0" then you are using the best available
