It seems you cant go 3 or 4 months now without seeing some new blow to the recording industries "statistics" that are often no more than simple claims
http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/news/2010/05/file-sharers-are-content-industrys-largest-customers.arsDrawing on a major study of Dutch file-sharers, Prof. Nico van Eijk of the University of Amsterdam concludes, "These figures show that there is no sharp divide between file sharers and others in their buying behaviour. On the contrary, when it comes to attending concerts, and expenses on DVDs and games, file sharers are the industry's largest customers... There does not appear to be a clear relationship between the decline in sales and file sharing."
This is something every user of a filesharing network knows, and its been the same with radio listeners for many years, if folks cant hear an artists music they have no incentive to want to buy an artists latest release or better even older material that artist has produced, would any of you here buy a car without seeing it or eat a meal without looking at it ?
If like myself your more than willing to purchase music that moves you in some way or is simply very enjoyable a method must exist to allow the music to be heard and in some cases thats via a p2p filesharing network, need I say any more ?
