wen i try to download a film, it jus says connection refused, can ne1 tell me y? songs r not a problem, jus films and i dont think its fake files coz it happens everytime i try. im on cable, usin primary connection. help please!!!

That could be for a number of reasons Kez maybe they are all running MxMonior a lot of them do, also you can increase your chances by trying opennap

One important thing to remember is that its important that you are sharing a video or two yourself, as otherwise you may find that your connections will continue to be refused, and yes the fact that  you can get MP3,s ok means your Mx is fine .

Another good idea is to start off in a not so large movie chat room, most of them are ok once you shown them your not a hit and run visitor.

thanx for that, will try wot u suggested, only thing is avnt got ne films 2 share til i download sum, av 2 upload sum of me own! not bin usin winmx for long so all abit new 2 me!

you might be trying to get fakes

type    -c:    


in the 2nd text bar in the search screen...movie name in first. You should only see results from non-fakes then

If you're not sure if a file is fake or not, it helps to browse and whois the users in the group. Check if they are sharing the same files, and if they all have 3000 files (not all flooders have 3000 files, but most do)
The flooders also make stupid names on the movies, such as:
some+movie+name
some movie name (2) (4)
some-movie-name
If a user is sharing a lot of these, then this is more than likely a fake file server.
The recording companies have also started with other dirty tricks - share fakes along with the real files, so you may get a group with a bit of both..
