Hi all,
I am new to Winmx and have tried to follow all the setup help info. I can also connect to Winmx but when i do a search nothing comes up. I have Win XP Pro, Winmx v3.53 with the latest patch installed. I am using a D-Link DSL G604T router and have portforwarded the port TCP 6699 UDP 6257.I have AVG free anti-virus installed v7.5.516 and my windows firewall is turned off. I have all the latest windows updates installed.

Many thanks

Ed

Hi Ed.... many times the incorrect IP address is entered in the port forwarding.... maybe double check that
you have entered the correct IP.To do so:   Click Start...... click run..... type in       cmd       and click ok
when the black dos box appears type in      ipconfig      and hit enter on your keyboard...make note of the IP
(not the gateway IP) and check that this is indeed the IP that you entered when forwarding ports.

Just in case that does not work fireblade
one thing to try would be start winmx with AVG turned off ......the reason i say this is because i used to use AVG and it worked fine then all of a sudden one day winmx wouldnt connect no matter what i done to it..... in the end i uninstalled AVG and it was fine.
Dont know how what or why as it was always fine b4 but that was the sollution.
Also when you say "Winmx v3.53 with the latest patch" please check its from this site below

 https://patch.winmxconex.com/

so many ppl of late think they got the latest patch & its not the case .... just worth a check

BTW hey reef merry christmas & a happy new year to u n yours  :D

Hi Guy's thanks for the help, i've got it sorted now.I set up a static IP and did what you suggested reef and all is good. I have managed to DL 1 album just a shame though that most of the people i try and download from always seem to timeout. Is this common or am i still having problems? Also i notice people always timeout when trying to download off me.

Many thanks

Ed

No thats not common, yes you are still having problems lol

You might want to give this a try and see if you have a better success rate with your downloads
and uploads....

Have winmx open.... click on the settings tab at the top...Click on Incoming TCP Connections and click the circle that says "Unable To Accept Incoming TCP Connections"  ....... Now on the left click   In/Out UDP Packets..... again click the lower circle  "Unable To Send or Receive UDP Datagrams On Any Port"
Close that box and restart WinMX making sure on the page where u get the green light, you have SECONDARY connection selected.Give it a try and post back letting us know whether it worked
any better with these settings.

Hi guys..... I've followed the instructions above, and I'm connected via Primary with 4 primary connections and 0 secondary. I run Windows 7 with 6GB RAM, 50GB HDD and a 10Mbps connection. I can connect, but a search brings me no results. I'm forwarding to port 10001, and my ip is indeed correct. Help, please!

Nevermind, I had mistyped the IP in my router settings. Thanks!
