Hustler Knocked Offline in Operation: Payback

Despite plenty of forward warning, Operation: Payback has successfully knocked Hustler.com offline - although it seems there's some intermittent uptime. The group behind the attack, many of which are made of Anonymous, decided on the target because of the 5,000+ lawsuits recently launched against suspected file-sharers. News of the attack was revealed yesterday, giving Hustler plenty of time to prepare. However, it seems the adult entertainment company was taken by surprise.

In an article featured in XBIZ.com, LFP President Michael Klein said his company was not expecting the attack. LFP only learned of this attack when notified by XBIZ.

"We are surprised by this announcement by this group...Obviously our legal actions against the individuals who have stolen our content are valid."

As of this writing, Hustler.com is in flux, but is fighting to stay online. It didn't take long, perhaps less than three minutes, for the attack to take the site offline.

and i find it so amusing that most of the recipients of those letters from lawyers are accused of sharing porn

no music or movie sharers?
What you think is important is rarely urgent

its not as embarrasing as porn... making the cases 'easier' to settle... (at least thats what they are thinking)

The RIAA recently aligned itself as being anti-childporn.
tactics to take the moral high ground that they seem to be loosing.

You'd think they might get the hint since they're realising they're loosing the moral high ground on P2P that society wants inexpensive, on demand content.

Not only is the average consumer not right, they're so wrong they're getting sued.

RIAA takes a share in McDonalds, new business practices in action....
"would you like fries with that?"
"No thank you just the...."
"YES YOU DO, BUY THE FRIES AND GET OUT OR WE'LL SUE YOU"
