As I feel this situation has gotten too out of control, I'm here to say that it is not me attacking the network. I have already spoken with GhostShip about this as well.

This is a screenshot between KM and myself from yesterday confirming he is the one behind the ongoing attack on the network.



I'm sorry I withheld this information and I'm posting it now because I do not wish to be blamed for something I'm not doing.

In regards to GhostShip's original assumption that it was me based on how many times my IP refreshes the room list. That is due to my bot which monitors the network searches and room list (as silver stripes pointed out the thread where i have shared 6 months of data on this forum prior).

That wasn't the only reason you where mentioned Josh you have failed to say just how the docs sharer came to be in possesion of the latest peer cache software src and the patch src, these questions haven't been answered to my satisfaction but it does look like KM is trying to hide behind you on this, you have to accept some of the anger from ppl as you did nothing to bring this to our attention till the spotlight was upon yourself.

Theres little more to say I,m just disappointed KM feels winmx is his to break and yet hides behind others out of fear.

Ps: folks I spoke to KM and confronted him with the evidence and he readily admitted that his actions would continue till he got his own way, regardless of the cost to the network.

... getting channellist even when not under attack is not an easy thing to do for me... when first trying to get it it stopped at ~300 channels that all looked legit... now im seeing randomness all the way in to the ~2000s....

KM is currently still attacking the WPN Primary network Achilles, he is driving users away as we speak and denying ppl their right to even be on the WPN let alone speak to their friends by instigiating a disruption that is not trivial to remedy, many friendships will be lost as a result of his actions and already some partially sighted and disabled folks have sent me messages begging for help, I share their frustration that one guy can censor the WPN and make terrorist style demands, shame on you KM, if this is KM's idea of free speech where no one can be allowed to converse it simply demonstrates his true values as a censor.

Whoever is doing it... its KMs same old way. Remember when it was fake ips or 1.x.x.x ?
Now Its fake attempts to a primary of 2.x.x.x-3.x.x.x
I firewalled everything 1.0.0.0-3.255.255.255 my winmx is behaving better. Me suggests adding those fake or Very unlikely, ips to the blocklist and any reference to numbers like that removed from the caches.
BTW. KMs way is the same as the other flooders way. They use currently blocked ips but have much, much faster computers with flood attempts of multiple connects per second. KMs just does that every few seconds but thats long enough to block real ips from connecting.

I leave WinMX running for days, and only 3 files will be completed. The rest of the files will be failed connections attempts saying something like the user is unavailable or a mismatch on the file. I thought it was a problem with my LynkSys RVS 4000 security router, but maybe it has something to do with the attacks on the network. I don't know, but WinMX has been useless to me for about 3 months now.

hash searching before the attacks seemed to be seriously glitched... so you arent the only one... (i put winmx in mothballs for a while for basically the same reasons)
