does anyone know how i can host a room without it slowing down my home wifi because right now when i open my room and join my bot and go to use anyother wireless device on my network it gets so slow !! like slow to the point where it times out logging into facebook or buffers watching a youtubev video every 10 sec

Hi Nickster, you might want to try running it in offline mode, that should make a noticeable difference. Room wont show in the list but not many do these days even in online mode. Other than that, not much more you can do that i can think of. You could then manually add your room to josh's site for it to get listed there.

Another technique, guaranteed to fix the problem, is this blue stuff called Cat5 Ethernet cable

The cable wouldm't prevent the chatserver eating all outgoing bandwitdth IMHO, and I think that's what's causing it

Hoting was never easy before on a wireless connection. Far to many variables,interference causes losts packet wbich = an automatic drop in winmx chat

If those other things work why are you trying to do it over WinMX?...

thank you for your help everyone and i will prob try to get cat5 wire when i can go out again it was just with the location of my server so i guess monday when i can get a cable spliter and run my modem upstairs i will see if plugging it into the router will make a diffrence
