I'm not sure whether to laugh or be concerned at this woeful news  :S

A DHS bulletin posted this week assesses the ability of the collective to inflict damage on industrial control systems that manage equipment at power plants, water treatment facilities, chemical plants and other potential targets.

The report downplays the near-term threat posed by Anonymous to such targets, but adds that experienced and skilled members of the group could "develop capabilities to gain access and trespass on control system networks very quickly."
The report says that Anonymous recently called on members to target energy companies. DHS said the call is likely to attract both members of the collective and the broader activist hacking community.

Anonymous means just that last time I checked the dictionary so just who do the DHS folks believe is hell bent on attacking key industrial targets ?
As previously mentioned this type of threat is virtually wiped out by simply running such control mechanisms via secure private lines and not the public internet, are the utility companies really so dumb or are we seeing the DHS indulge in fantasy stories to gather a larger slice of the budget pie ?

Another snippet on the so called secret group folks are told to fear

Cody Kretsinger, 23, entered not guilty pleas to one count each of conspiracy and unauthorized impairment of a protected computer during a brief hearing in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles.  U.S. Magistrate Judge Victor Kenton set a December 13 trial date for Kretsinger, who came to court dressed in khaki pants and a blue collared shirt with the sleeves rolled up, and spoke only in response to questions from the judge.

Kenton also ordered that Kretsinger be represented by a court-appointed public defender. Kretsinger, who went by the moniker "recursion," helped post information he and his co-conspirators stole from Sony on LulzSec's website and announced the intrusion via the hacking group's Twitter account, the indictment charges.

Obviously for sony having its network attacked was very expensive but lets look at this from another angle, for all anyone nows the network could have been compromised for ages and having someone expose a massive security hole was likley to be costly at any time.
