cannot up load or down load, everyone times out.
been offline for almost a month, just switched from comcrap to att, now i cant up or download and everyone times out
amd 5200, xp sp2, dlink 4100 gamer router, att 2wire modem
did the cmd config and got new ip address, reset windows for that, upd and tcp set, winmx allowed on fitrwalls, dlink set and att modem allowed for winmx
what a i missing?

forwarding through 2 devices seemingly can get a bit tricky but the principles are always the same

can you just outline what you did in the config of the dlink and the att modem

i set dlink to allow winmx using the standard ports , confirmed dlink had the new ip number, and set the att modem to allow winmx under "all applications"

ive been on winmx since ver 2.6, and everything was working fine (or as fine as it got oncomcast) until i switched to att.  im thinking is has something to do with athe att modem

two other things, a couple of people actually started downloading, but both reset.  also, i dont have any secondarys showing up, which is unusual

it looks like im the only one on now, so ill check back in a couple of hours

one more thing, i was running through a comcast modem for years with no problems, other than rotten service from comcast

is the dlink only being used to connect the computer to the att modem?
have you tried connecting the computer directly to the att modem rather than through the dlink?

In the ATT modem i think you need to forward traffic arriving at the modem for winmx through to the computers IP.

see if you can find your att modem on the above site and forward the ports for winmx to the IP and ports of your computer.
