Is there anyway of telling if an album is wrapped before you download it....also, if you download one that isn't wrapped, is there anyway of separating the songs once you've downloaded it?

Helpful users will put this information in the filename, if they don't, it doesn't mean that it isn't wrapped though.

Yes you can separate the tracks if it isn't, there are many applications to do it, personally I use mp3 direct cut, which is free & I found at www.tucows.com

Hi Marsbar42,
Welcome to the site..

Yes you can 'preview' ALBW files so to speak when your downloading them to make sure that AblumWrap will recognize the format.  Here are the instructions how:

If your getting an album wrapped title (ALBW) , you can try opening the track listing once you have a  few % of the download , to check its the right file.  To do this go to your incomplete file and open it with your AlbaWrap Extractor program and it will show you a list of the contents of that file.

Here is the link for the AblumWrap tutorial incase your not familar with or need to get this program.

There are other programs that you may want to also have handy in cases that albums you download are not in the traditional 'ALBW' format.  You can find them here:
https://www.winmxworld.com/tutorials/album_tools.html

If these happen to all fail there is still hope for getting those tracks seperated, there are tools that can split non wrapped albums, this involves doing it manually and the easiest one to use is the Cool MP3 Splitter, which is not a free but is the easiest to use by far..

Here is a link to the shareware version, as you may know 'Shareware' indicates you can try it before you buy it, so the initial download will be free..

Cool mp3 splitter is 4th one down on this page.
