When WinMX worked perfectly from time to time my internet connection itself would drop.

Every position I had in queue to others would vanish and go red. The only way to get back in queue was to clear the links and search again. That was typical, normal WinMX behavior.

My connection still drops except VERY frequently, since qwest got purchased by Centurylink.

That aside, the weirdest thing happened today. I was away from home all day, sure enough the stupid connection dropped. All chat rooms gone, peeps in my room also gone. IP address changed.

I was in queue for a download in WinMX, and that did not drop. It just simply did its refresh thing and remained in queue as if nothing happened.

That is the first time ive ever seen that happen since Clinton was president.

How is that possible? Could whatever makes the thing stay in queue anyway despite drops in the connection be made as feature in the new client?

Is a ghost sitting around on the couch clearing the dropped queues and then automagically making search work instantly and re-entering queue so quickly that the position remains the same??

I am now hearing music from the Twilight Zone.

I thought you knew WinMX was special MinersLantern  :-D

I think you got lucky in this instance with the way the internal threading runs, each transfers is assigned its own thread and socket and when in a queue periodically polls the remote client, that timer was obvioulsy still in operation at the time the main node gathering routine failed due to the IP being swapped, a helpful fluke it seems.
