What Operating Systems Are You All Using ?
« on: August 17, 2014, 12:14:50 am »
As stated in the question above it would at this time be helpful to know what will be our main focus area of operation so if you could vote and let us know if we can drop support for some of the older operating systems it would be beneficial.

WinMx was originally designed with win98 support in mind but I'm hoping we can move ahead of this now so things like filesharing can be improved upon and some of the protocol field limits lifted to accommodate those improvements, anyway that's the plan so lets hear from you all regarding what is the most popular O/S and we can then refocus our support of that both on the site and in the OurMx client arena.

I am using Windows 7 on my  newer pc. This is a Dual Core II with 2 gb of RAM. The older machine is a P-IV with one gb of RAM. Using Lubuntu there.

Lubuntu is the smoothest OS I have ever tried! If it were possible, I'd favor the Linux port.

:) Thank you!

Windows 8.1 64-bit version on my Desktop
Windows Server 2012 R2 on my Server (This only comes in 64-bit).
OS X on my Laptop but wine can handle WinMX on that

the 32/64 bit version is interesting too.

My Win7 is 64 bit, all the way

(Yet I cant get 64-bit Java to install itself on my business computer, and my booking system app keeps asking me to)
