Kim Jong-un Film Release Cancelled - Sony Bow To Attackers

I suspect this is a sensible move following as it does the release of much embarrassing material already with threats of more to come..

Sony Pictures has cancelled the planned US release on 25 December of the film The Interview, after major cinema chains decided not to screen it.
The film is about a fictional plot to kill North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
Hackers have already carried out a cyber attack on Sony and warned the public to stay away from cinemas screening the film.
The US government said it was considering a "range of options" on how to respond to the attack.

Aside from the garbage-dump quality  "he said she said" emails etc that have already surfaced Sony had a lot more to lose should the hackers have released their financial details as it might well show how the hollywood accounting fiddles work in actual detail, using this accounting model actors and others are fleeced of royalties and other rights and profit sharing deals by the creation of debt and debt repayment costs,  simply put one arm of the company lends money to the actual film production subsidary at a very extortionate interest rate and thus at the end of the deal there appears a magical debt that both companies can claim as a major loss and thus drop their tax liabilities accordingly , this effects actors because they sign deals that only pay off if a film makes an actual profit, Hollywood accounting ensures that's rarely the case.
Exposing any financial trickery could potentially do Sony a massive amount of damage far in excess of what they may lose cancelling this 27M movie.
