Author Topic: Problem w/uploads with MXMonitor ??? (Read 6888 times)

I installed MX Monitor last night and it seems to be doing a great job blocking uploads from leeches but I'm afraid it might be forcing legitimate users to time out.

I've had 2 people (one more than once) try to upload from me that should be able to based on my parameters set. They both have timed out.

I don't want to prevent people from uploading to me entirely. Is this something that MX Monitor could be causing and if so, how do I fix it?

MXMonitor shouldn't break any connections in that way, the only thing MXMonitor does is to control the WinMX window. So the problem must be in your network settings. (or theirs)

a simpel test is to watch it for an hour or so, count how many work and fail, then close mxmonitor, and do the counting again - see if anything actually changes

i doubt it is mxmonitor causing a problem, could just be that after installing mxmonitor you watched your uploads more closely than usual so just notice things more

Since i got WinMx monitor, I would say about 2-4 files are successfully uploaded from me daily, and about 40 legitimate uploads "abort." I talked to a guy on the other end, and he says they're repeatedly timing out. Based on my settings on MX Monitor, he should be allowed, as should most of the others. Help?

Note - I'm on secondary connection. I always have been, and it's worked well til recently.

Well I can say this.. many ppl feel this way when they first begin to use these types of programs.. its amazing the amount of ppl not sharing on WInMX.. however, there are lots of settings that could cause this..

I suggest two things ..one is to have a look at our basics on it and make sure your settings are ok..
Basic Set Up For MXMonitor

if they are then maybe you should try the test as KM mentions above.. if the numbers are better without Monitor running I then suggest you try LeechHammer.. maybe it will work better for you..

I reset my settings as described on the example given. I didn't notice much difference in what I already had, but I'll give that a shot and see if it helps.

I uninstalled MX monitor, and I'm having the same problems with uploads. Every attempted download turns into "connection aborted" or "timed out." Ideas? Do i need to uninstall WInMX and start over? Help!
