yes it will, i know 3 people that use win 7 and winmx,

if you do get a problem, here's 1 thing you can do,
1, close down winmx
2, right click its icon, chose 'Properties'
3, click on the 'Compatibility' tab
4, tick the small box 'Run as' and chose in the drop down menu 'Windows XP'
5. click apply/ok
start your winmx and it should run without problems.

Works fine in Windows 7 64-bit & Windows Server 2008 R2. I've tested both.

I'd actually say that it runs better in Windows 7 than it ever did in XP. I can easily keep WinMX going for 30-40 days straight which is impressive I think, would usually mess up long before that on XP.

i agree but do take care of setting up your folder paths correctly and don t use win7's "fake" folder paths

win7 adds in-memory fixes to broken or leaky apps is most likely why it runs longer in win7....

btw, we seem to have spammers again....

My Windows 7 worked fine until a bout a week ago.  When I open the program I get the message "Winmx has stopped working."  Should I try to reinstall??  Any help that I can get will be greatly appreciated!!

Have you tried running it in compatibility mode? You can also try and run it as administrator. Also what version of WinMX are you using? Not sure if this is correct, but 3.53 may not work correctly on Win7.

I have been using Windows 7 since it came out, and I have never had any problems running WinMX v3.54b4, even without running it in some special mode or as administrator.

That's strange, as I've been running both SlavaNap and WinMX 2.6 under XP for many years....and only needed to reboot every 6 months at the worst.
That is all the PC did though....that and file sharing to my other PCs.
Just had to upgrade to Win7 due to needing 3Tb drives...and already I hate how it has to hold your hand in anything you do!
Less than 2 weeks in, and I've had to reboot.
NOT impressed...Win 2000 ran for over 2 years without being touched...on an old Athlon, with 512Mb ram!
