WinZO is an alternative client for WinMX network.
It was developed for my own use, and lacks some features present in original client.

Since the first release I had almost no time for WinZO development, but anyway the next minor update is out. Features chat client, and not much else. Alas, no file browsing yet.

WinZO sources are also released, they are just a bit more human readable, than the decompiled output from Reflector

Amons project seems to be helping publicise the fact winmx is still operating

This is good news for us all, perhaps if others took up the coding of similar items we may well be able to get a more wider selection of open source code and fresh minds on the problems involved in such endeavours.

Hi Jester, the basic answer to your question is Amon disappeared

The releases he did make are in the archive along with the source code for the last version he made (1.04), no one has been able to contact him and I know for certain many have tried.

There is one good peice of news though, another programmer called "Sir Moon" decided to take up the challenge and has been working on a project based on some of the WinZO code, besides the numerous bug fixes for things no one had even noticed yet, many new and improved features have been written in and this project is still "live" so we can expect some release in the future, I made mention of it in this post here.
