A 'lil problem on WCS or winMX - with color codes
« on: March 11, 2006, 09:12:45 pm »
This one is minutia, no biggie, just a quirk..

This was typed in channel:

#c2#ignore this test - just confirming a bug/quirk in winmx or WCS - '#c6#somewhere some how#c2#' the color code gets broken

On the repeated lines, the line was changed to WCS-1 and WCS-12, to add an extra character.  Note how when 1 character is added, the "how" wraps around, but turns yellow.  When a second character is added, the 'how' tirns back to blue.

The positiion of the nickname frame has an affect.  As the nick list is widened or narrowed, the color changes.  Only in one specifc position does the 'how' turn yellow.

minutia.

that's actually a bug in winmx displaying colour codes - however considering it was never meant to be able to do it you can't really blame it for having a bug in something it's not meant to do anyway :-)

getting coloured text on it in the first place was the bug... it actually is a bug in the way an opmsg is sent to clients that i noticed when playing with 3.53 - no doubt as a result of laziness not wanting to add extra message types, however that little bug can be was (ab)used to get winmx to display a line of coloured text - any other bugs in that bug are perfectly understandable, lol
