I tried searching without the - user and i'm getting search results. Are we back to the old way or should the - user still work. Let me know.

Dang! lol, sorry about that. I've actually tried both and it's a no-go.

Also, do you know if there's a way to somehow lock my ip address beacause their are times i lose connection/have to restart and my ip is always changing. Is there a way to make connection physically in the cpu so it matches my router setting?

Is it your internal IP that keeps changing? or your external (public) one? Things can be set to keep the internal one static (just specify fixed ones on your PCs & turn dhcp server of router off) your public one is controlled by your isp & other than keeping connected 24/7 there's little you can do to keep it constant, as you'll get a new one each time you connect.

It's the ip on my laptop. My router is always the same.
Do i have to keep hitting repair my connection until it's the same as my router?

Ok sounds like you need to configure a static ip on your laptop, rather than having your router assign it, it's worth a visit to www.portforward.com because they have instructions how it's done with screenshots, easier than trying to explain here.

I was looking to do a static ip. When i go to run and type in ipconfig, the dos box starts to open up but it keeps shutting down. I'm not able to get the info i need.
Would you tell me why this is happening and/or how to fix this. Thanks.

need to open the dos box first, either by tying cmd in the run box, or by using the menu to start it (it lives in accessories on the menu) otherwise if you type the command in run, the dos box closes as soon as the command has executed, ie before you can read it) which is what i think is happening here. once the dos window is open you can type /ipconfig in that without it vanishing

Can we install the new patch over the old one or do we need to delete the older first. I didn't know, so i already downloaded the new patch over the old one and my "spm" is really low at 126 right now.

yes you can install the new patch over the old one, it detects all previous versions the low value for SPM is unrelated to the patch & probably has more to do with local CPU load, if you're not running any CPU intensive software, oor doing anything unusual then i'd advise scanning for viruses adware spyware & all other nasties, these often install processes that hike CPU usage
