I downloaded the patch with winMx set up and after installing it.I show as online.When I search I do get stuff to download but even if they are green downloads won't start they just sit and never move.I notice people I try to share with can't get anything from me either.I use Windows xp and my pc is only 2 years old.I also have Norton 2006 installed and I shut off the firewall but it still won't let me download grrrrr??? Did I screw up or what please help hugs Bluesongbird

I am also having probs , everything i try to download says timed out waiting for network reply any help would be great thanks.

Bluesongbird, you need to allow WinMx in the internet worm protection of Norton.
Have a look here for a tutorial.

I too have the same problem...timed out connections. I did the Norton thing...closed out of WinMx entirely...re-started WinMx...got the Norton pop-up....still timed out connections.

Maybe you should try making sure it's in fact norton by closing/deactivating it completely for a moment and try without it, just to see if it works then.
Besides Norton you also need to make sure you have the ports (6699 and 6257 by default) opened/forwarded in any router, firewall or modem with integrated firewall.
