« on: April 16, 2006, 01:37:15 pm »
im trying to figure this out, i had to update to win xp sp3 when my win me crashed, and trying to figure this stuff out, i disabled the windows firewall, and allowed the ports i need thru it for if it cut on for some reason. i use zone alarm, and i set it to allow the same ports, now i can send/receive messages, and receive files, but cant connect anyone so they can get mine. i even tried turning off zone alarm & pg2 and still no luck, tried the ports mx comes set for, and 1352 & 4747. hope someone here can help. i tried primary & secondary connections still couldnt connect

go to settings and run the setup wizard, it will probably tell you the TCP ports don't work

try using higher ports like tcp 16699 and udp 16257. what isp are you with? its common for isp to filter uploads and leave downloads alone because they could be "liable" for uploads
