no one can upload from me for some time ("waiting for incoming connection"), everything else is ok. I can download from the user who can't upload from me. I can browse, search, I can be browsed. I haven't changed any settings in WinMX or in the router. I have primary connection. XP/SP2. I switched firewall, antivirus off, uninstalled/reinstalled MXPie Patch. still the same. When I had WIN98 and PiePatch2.5 everything was OK. Any help is appreciated.

Your TCP port is either blocked or not correctly forwarded at a guess, this is generally the cause of this, have a look at the top of the main window after winmx has been running for a while, you'll see P=? s=? & spm=?????? if S=0 after a while running it confirms a problem with port forwarding.  i recommend rechecking the port forwarding setup, you don't state which av program you're using, but if it's Norton 2005 or later, check winmx is allowed in internet worm protection.
Blessed is he who expecteth nothing, for he shall not be disappointed.

As Bearded says sounds like the router to me.. pay close attention to the Internal IP used on your rules.. if this has changed it would be like not having rules...

You may want to follow the instructions at
http://www.portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm  to set up a staic IP address for the  router to use and this wont happen again.

Guys, you were right on the mark... it's the router. Ports were mapped to the wrong IP address (computer next room). At some point of time I swapped the network cables on my router without realizing the consequences... Now they will be labelled!
Thanks, Paul
