Problems with FXS
« on: July 17, 2006, 06:33:46 pm »
I am hosting a room on fx server, n it seems that when there is no activity in the room for six minutes some of my chatters fall out of the room. anybody know why n if it can be solved?

I don't know the cause, or a proper cure. but...
Code: [Select]
<OnTimer type="random" interval="300">
// Add as many output lines as you wish
<out>Boo!</out>
<out>/me pokes the room</out>
<out>/me says something just to move the screen</out>
<out>∗Tickles all the lurkers∗</out>
</OnTimer>
Will cause the bot to say something random on a 5 minute cycle, & therefore you'll never see inactivity for 6 minutes.... I'd recommend LOTS of random output lines or it'll get boring.

*Edit typo in the word ' interval ' corrected BB

OK i was winging it, I'm not completely certain <OnTimer> supports random , so try splitting it like this:
Code: [Select]
<OnTimer type="script" interval="300">
<out type="self">!autotrigger</out>
</OnTimer>

<command type="random">
<in>!autotrigger</in>
// Add as many output lines as you wish
<out>Boo!</out>
<out>/me pokes the room</out>
<out>/me says something just to move the screen</out>
<out>∗Tickles all the lurkers∗</out>
</command>

& don't forget to reload the bot after saving, although if you pasted it may well simply be that I misspelled interval :oops:
