Greetings from the Toronto area in Canada. I am totally blind, and the speech software program that I'm currently using is Window Eyes 4.5. I am using Windows XP Home with service pack 2. I have the new beta version of Winmx installed on my computer. Obviously the majority of Winmx users are not totally blind, I understand that. But I seem to be having some problems that are unique to my situation. Back before WinMX was shut down at its Canadian location, I had no problem in selecting and downloading multiple files at once. All I had to do was hit control space bar to select the files I was interested in downloading. Now however, this no longer seems to be possible. The only way that I can download a file is to hit the right mouse button and then hit the enter key to activate the download button and that first file is selected. But once I've done that, I find that I've lost my results, and the only way to get them back is to institute a completely new search and repeat the process again. There must be an easier way to download files, and there must also be a way of downloading multiple files at one time. Also if there is more than one screen's worth of results, I cannot seem to move down to the next screen. Normally I would think that the page down key would be what I'd use to get to the next screen, either that or the down arrow key but neither of them are working to advance me to the next screen. Obviously there have been some slight adjustments to the new Winmx software that makes this program work somewhat differently with the Window Eyes program than it used to. I would like to know if anyone can assist me in getting around these problems. Also, is there any way to specifically select a minimum bit rate for results? I see where it says MP3 any bit rate, but I'm not sure how to mannually select a specific bit rate to start at. Anyway, I hope that someone else on this forum also uses Window Eyes and can either answer my questions here on the forum or E-mail me privately. Thanks for your help in advance.
