I have used their WebChat a few times in the past, particularly when I had probs getting room lists to load.   Might have to try this.  :D

but my java applet is better... well actually it's about the same

that's just odd, I made a java web chat client on the 10th (exact same date he has listed for his being released)... and it had nothing to do with seeing it on there or anyone mentioning it, extremely odd timing :-S except I was delaying releasing it until I could get multiple colours, the difference being he released with one colour

http://pegasus.untracedserver.com/chat.html  if anyone is interested (i decided black on white is better if you only have 1 colour for the text)

The userlist section is rather small could it be enlarged to allow us to see the usernames without scrolling ?

It seems to work ok anyway  :)

I download  2SN Java Chat Client & I can't connect to the room.
Did I install it wrong or something?
What I did was extract the files to a folder on my desktop open the folder then I click javachat.html Firefox opens & I get this message.
If I click on the.jar file I get this error.Failed to load Main-Class manifest attributes from C:\Documents and settings\ ect...\JmxChat.jar

I know you were referring to KM's version.I had no problem starting his version.
I tried using it with IE too an I couldn't connect either got the same message "Failed to Enter Chat Room Disconnect From Server".
I tried the Java WinMX Chat link on the 2SN site and got the same message with both IE & Firefox.

I've tried KM's as well and got noting. Using IE and it don't seem to work at all. I put in a username and it takes me a what looks like a blank room. Don't see how to enter a channel or anything. Is it this computer or does it just not work? Would be nice to get on here and chat from the net.

my one should work, you enter a username and it joins the winmxworld hideout (although the GUI is rubbish, the very little java i know, the only decent GUI i could get refused to work in an applet...)

perhaps we should split the thread for the 2 applets rather than people talking about both in one thread? i was merely mentioning mine, it's certainly not release quality :-)

This is what I finally got for your's KM.

Unable to connect to 80.175.31.63:3389

Also, could you possibly put up one on this server. This library doesn't seem to like the 2SN site, it blocks it because it is labeled under chat or some weird stuff. Would be nice to drop by a few rooms every once in a while till I get back on my feet and get the net back and all my stuff out of storage. I would really appreciate it if someone would host the 2SN Java Chat Client somewhere so I could get on it and use it.

if you're behind restrictive networks that don't allow outbound connections and only let you use HTTP proxies, no web chat will work... as it's still just a chat client connecting to the room, just running in a web page rather than as a separate program

* Bearded Blunder also had zero luck with the 2sen java client

KM's one like, if i dare risk saying it.. most of his software.. works.. but isn't pretty.... i look forward to the colour offering..

meanwhile.. if anyone could enlighten me how to get the 2sen activex thing set up server side so ppl can use it.. i'd be delighted to know.. it's in the archive, but lacks any kind of even basic readme.. a good web host would know.. but i'm a complete n00b at web hosting...

[edit]the activex client works fine, it's the channel listing thingy i can't figure out[/edit]
Blessed is he who expecteth nothing, for he shall not be disappointed.
