Things are getting desperate for MS perhaps in the Vista security failure countdown.

In a few weeks time Microsoft is expected to launch Vista, its new operating system, and in January we will all get to play with the finished version.
But how safe will this brave new world be?

Given the number of attacks Windows usually attracts it is not surprising that Microsoft has been speaking to anyone they think can help.
A team from Microsoft headquarters went to Malaysia for Asia's biggest gathering of hackers - not to confront the enemy - but to throw the hackers a party.
But behind the charm offensive, said Microsoft's Security Programme Manager Sarah Blankinship, lies a serious purpose.

Hack in the Box brings together hackers, security professionals and the companies who rely on their expertise.
Together they may determine whether 2007 is a good or bad year for Microsoft, because security will probably make or break Vista, its first new operating system since XP's security-plagued release six years ago.

I am confident with MS keeping the keys to the Kernel to themselves will mean a fast set of hacks appearing and the security companies just sitting back and watching MS squirm.

I agree there lol i think this will be the Make or Break scenario for Microsoft. If Microsoft Vista proves to be stable then i think some people will use it however saying that if Microsoft have yet again failed to use half decent security then users wont bother and Microsoft will have wasted years and money on something that means nothing.

(Prays for Microsoft to fail)

well they can't do much else, M$ already locked out the security companies from being able to fix anything by locking up the kernel so only malware can infect it

Malware is still ban KM unless its Microsofts own made Malware and they call them bugs rofl. If they try and steal anything more from Linux i think i will cry because they are taking this out of Linux good features and turning them into a IT Technicians Nightmare.

ROFL,
