Hello,

I would like to know if someone could give me the complete list of all filetypes we can share on Winmx. I explain myself: I want to share all files I have but there are so many different types (and I have so much files) that I don't know if winmx did upload them all. I just found out for example that the VOB filetype was not shared. I tried to enter it in settings with writting ".VOB" or "VOB" but it didn't recognize my VOB files anyway, so I don't know if we can.
So if somebody could give me all the filetypes, it would be nice.

Hi Dan,

Actually wow.. a list of all file types ever would be like impossible. So let me just tell you that you can share even made up file types.. I have done so.

If your using version 3.54 beta 4 to share files, please be sure that in the Library tab of your WinMX that you right click the folder that contains the .vob files and then tick that file type there. It may be that after you have added them to the default types in Settings > Library section that unsharing and resharing that folder should fix the .vob files. With 3.54 you have to tick each file type for each folder shared you want shared.. so have a try at that.

I have yet to find a file type that WinMX will not share when its set up right from start to finish on the sharing of that folder.

Let me know if this does not work.

Hi Dan,
am i right in saying a VOB is a video file? if so, could you use a converter so make it an .avi or .asf? or even zip it using winrar or 7-zip or even quick-zip? as these do mor file types than winzip, just a few ideas to play with, hope it helps

the best option is to convert files to a more common format (like avi for video, mp3 for audio etc) purely because others will want to firstly find it in their searches (searches only come up with the relevant file types unless you select all files) but also because they would like to open them once downloaded, so naturally want a standard format not every format going

If u share movies in vob, ifo format it is better to rar them up into small parts and share as a multi-rar file.

Ok, thanks for all your answers.
About the vob file, I found why it didn't worked. It's because we must write ".vob" and not ".VOB" as I did. Simple as that.
