associating an outside player
« on: October 31, 2006, 02:10:35 am »
I have my own personal preference on what player to use to play incoming audio files but can not seem to get it to open properly in WinMX.  Can you tell me how to associate an outside audio player in the file launching windows in the option area?  I have tried a number of different times with different input and nothing seems to work.

Incoming meaning incomplete files?
I don't  think that all players can play such files....
Winamp works flawlessly if you want to preview incomplete audio files

Cheers :P

You'd set up the action to take in settings, under file launching, having filled the appropriate fields in, to use your choice, you'd right click the file & coose the new context menu item added as a result

Well thanks, I just did what you said, and I'm listening to a partial file.  I think it will help to decide if it good or not.  It is great.

No, I meant complete files.  I'd like to open them from within WinMX rather than going through
the process of going to the incoming file folder and opening it there.

If you have shared that folder, the go to library, go to that folder and select that file. Double click it or right click it and select play.
