Hi folks I spoke to Emulator and he stressed that this is not ready for use yet but I know many of you like to look over new goodies etc so heres the link

NOTE:
The version alpha is very incomplete, is not advised use this for predefined Chat Client because have a lot of bugs and most functions not avalable! The Client on ScreenShot is an mix of italian-english, later will be Multilanguage.

At the time of writing the version is 0.8 and theres a screenshot of the client at the above link to take a peek at.

Indeed Nylly, Emulator has a folder in the archive containing his other releases and its great to see more Italian work, they are after all a big part of the winmx global community.

I,m always happy to see fresh talent joining the programming ranks and Emulator has mentioned he will be moving on to a chat server once this project is finished so we have many good things to look forward to.

Update folks : Emulator has released version 0.9 of his chat client alpha.

I have spoken to Emulator a few days ago and version 0.10 is coming along nicely, its not ready for release yet but the screenshots I saw show that some of the more advanced features are being built in to make this a popular client in the future.

Yes.. the link is incorrect... and i have fixed a little bug on Client, i don't have changed the version on site, but internally is the alpha 10.1...

i have tested it as well, because it looks the same as winmx3.54 but without the file shares it dont lag, its fast and thats good, but theres a down side, i didnt see a favorites button, so u haver to ether add the hash in filter or search for the room each time, lets hope you are working on this as it is a fast small client.

This is excellant Emulator.. I love the way it looks.. and I like the light wieght it is.. running it is a breeze..

Im curious if your able to join more then one room with it at this time. I seem to only be able to join one and it wont let me in any others. I also cant seem to join a room that my WinMX is already in?

Just curious about those two things.. I know this is a work in progress and its great so far Emulator ..

Hi Me_Here, i did manage to join 2 rooms 1 was mine, 1 was another fxs room that im reg in, but another wuldnt let me in, even when i left the other 2 so i wasnt in a room, it still blocked me, that was another fxs room too. strange.

Hi all, i was testing the emulator alpha again last nite and got it into six rooms at the same time, including the WinMXWorld help channel & spoke with Tiny4eva, we agree this has potential and its fast too no lag.

One question:
Do you need to patch it or change the cache hostname?
It doesn't conenct at all

I have double checked the firewall.....
Also, do you need to forward any ports for it?

i had a roomie try it out with me..... we both edited the hostname to cache0.winmxgroup.com both got connected but while using the nudge in the chat
feature it crashed on me several times and didnt wanna connect each time after crashing either
..... both of us were also unable to send files to one another in the new chat feature window also.

Cool chat client tho emu... cant wait til its 100% complete

For now its suggested to use the winmxgroup non-winmx patch found on their site.

Simply pop that into the follder and all should be fine.

hi guys, i did pp the ws2_32dll in there the 1st day i got it, and it did connect sometimes in 20 sec's sometimes in 10.
it is good as theres no file share so no lag, i will be looking at the completed model, but i still dont thjink it will have the fetures that robo and bendmx have.
