Cheers for the new version ( 0.12a ) Emulator

Max, this client is certainly not trying to copy the projects at MxControl, I would have though you could guess that from looking at the style in use

Once this project is completed I think we can lookforward to a new chat server also, Emulator is I think doing a great job so far.

im sorry, i didnt mean that emulator was out to copy robo in any way, i meant i dont think it will rival robo as alot of ppl like robo, myself included becuase of the extra fetures and the admin capability, im sorry if i insulted anyone.
io will be looking at the new 0.12a anyway.

Hi All, ermm... is it me just being thick (only have 1 brain cell) or have i found a glitch, when i used the new alpha emulator i noticed that even if i click the dark/light settings button or edited the colours manually i got exactly the same result, black black background or white background showed no text visible, either black, white or any colours even tho the color.dat file was in the folder and yes so was the english.txt file, i even tried adding the new alpha to the previous alpha folder and used the previous alpha's colour.dat file and still blank screen.
if some1 else has the same prob then we know its a glich, if not, im a total plank & cant see what im not doing

Hi Max, i know this bug and this has been fixed and the alpha 13 incoming soon!

The main changes are:
+Improved Dialogs management
+Added possibility of saving or loading Color Scheme like WinMX
+Added Auto Join Channels on start-up
+Added Auto Login on Join a Channel
+Added Auto Re-join Channel
+Added XXX filter for Channels List
+Added Auto Start-up on Windows starts
+Now can connect to your preferred Primary
+Fixed saving of "on WinMX..." on Favorites Channels
+Sorting on click List Colum for Channels and Users List
+Users with "@" or "+" is on top of Users List
+Added Users List resize
+Added Server Commands on rotate wheel to Channel imput box
+Added some commands on User List menu
+Minor bugs fixed
+Fixed obsolete code
+Some improvements

The chat looks good but dont see the point in it :shock:. Seen this twice now, First FXserve and now this, Why choose to do somethin so stupid as restriceting your access down to one primary, unless you want to pick yourself which again is pointless and use's no less BW.

I didn't think it was pointless when I was using this option with robomx when winmx first went down & robo had yet to be patched.
That aside, it's not completely pointless to pick your own primary, if you do so, you know for certain that it's not going to reset midway through a conversation in private messages & possibly break communication as a result.

Now it would be nice to see you retract calling a potentially useful feature "stupid" & by association the programmer with it.

The ability to select your own WinMX as your primary is useful, but I have to agree that manually selecting another primary is rather pointless - however of course the ability to do the first sort of gives the ability to do the second as a package deal...

Mmmmh is simply an option... you can disable if you want

Note: new version is relased (alpha 13.1) is corrected a little "bug"... the Main bar of bottom use a WinMX 3.53 Bar and this containim the statistics of peer chaches... please update it

This program looks great, looks like the chat client that I've always wanted. Looks very much like WinMX, with a few great features. But one huge draw back...

I can't seem to get the damn thing to run at all. I start it, and it's just left in the background. No form opens up at all. I have to close it through the task manager. I'm running XP Pro, I closed down some of my security programs to see if that helped, but it still did the same thing. I'll be sure to keep tabs though, maybe a newer version will work.

It worked for me very well...
try right clicking and selecting "show" mabye that ought to help

ran fine here i like it, just cant see a proper use for choosing one primary, apart from yourself. Bearded shh. It was constructive crytism and asking to be enlightened. notice the smiley's, i never mentioned anything about emulator. i have been trying this chat out since his first compiled slightly crashy release. Notice nowhere me say anything about him.

Keep up the good work anyway Emulator, i like it and look forward to it growing into something more.

For Linux users... there are a Wine Version on the same link, this use by default the "cache0.winmxgroup.com" peer cache, for connect directly... don't need any patch
