In case you have not noticed all the wpn peer cache servers are down. this includes www.winmx.com . You will no longer be able to connect again! Please stay connected. If you on secondary you may loose connection after your primary disconnects and you will no longer be able to get a new one. Primarys will be alble to stay connected as long as their primary's dont leave! This is not a drill! the wpn may soon be comming to an end! All clients including rabbit,robo will no longer get a channel list or connect to the wpn!

Ok ppl if your not already aware WinMX Peer Caches have gone down. Opennap is still operational and if you have the wsx files already please connect via that

Here is a tutorial on how to connect and join or create rooms on opennap.

If you dont have the .wsx files you can get them here

There are several Rooms still operational and the more ppl that we can keep connected to the rooms the better. You wont get a WinmX Channel list so you must enter with a name_hex or a IP:Port
You can also still join any rooms from a Favorites list that are still up.

Just Right click and copy and paste these into the filter bar and click join.

This is not good... very not good.
Well vladd44, KM and bender, looks like you guys have a job to do, if MX is to continue living. And that job is writing open source replacements for the cache servers, and somehow make MX accept them.
If you choose to do so, please make sure they're located in Russia, Sealand or Sweden.

Just use copy/paste to save these into your Word Processor. Then use copy paste to get them into the window in WinMX chat area, then click join
Hope this helps all those EX-winMX'ers out there. Somebody should take those money grabbing bastards from the MIAA & RIAA and shut them down permanently.

if someone can figure out the format for the peer cache data then we only need someone to run peer caches, and we on the client side can load our hosts file with the new peer cache addys it seems

The weakness of the WinMX network has always been the Peer Cache servers, theses have been switched off, so WinMX can no longer function, I suggest in the short time that you select open nap as this network is still built into your winmx client, grab some of the WSX files from our archives
and follow the instructions in the tutorial.

As for the WSX files here is the correct directory

httpss://archive.winmxworld.com/WSX%20Files/

Right click the files and choose 'Save Target As' then you can import them into your WinMX.
