could winmx add "pdf" download?

That shouldn't be a problem.

All you need to do is add the file type, in WinMx 3.54 you'll find them under Settings > Library > File types.
Just add a new file type, call it "acrobat reader" or something like it and the extension is *.pdf of course.

It's similar in 3.53 though the library is a bit different, I'm sure someone else can help you out with that in case you don't find it

*.pdf is not a file type that WinMX will search for. There are two ways for you to search for them:

Add Name for File, click the Any Audio - any bitrate button under the search and choose 'AnyFile/Any Bitrate'

or

Add the word ~.pdf to the second line of the search of the Title, click the Any Audio - Any Bitrate button and choose Text file.

two ways to search is not useful to download

any non mp3 file will get them too..

since frontcode have ceased development & closed down winmx related activities there will bew no "next version" what may or may not be added to a new client if someone writes one remains to be seen, however not being able to specify to ONLY get pdf files in results seems hardly a big issue, given one can sort them from searching all files

even if a further version were developed it would be stupid to listen to every single suggestion for filetypes

might as well have an alphabetic list of every single 1 2 3 or 4 letter combination possible then it would make it extremely easy to search for a specific file type... by going through the list

the common ones people actually use are on the list, and then any other files a few people might want are covered by the any file type search and typing the extension you want - cluttering up the list so that the majority of searches for the common file types you have to spend ages hunting on the huge list doesn't benefit anyone, as those wanting common filetypes would only have a bigger list to search through giving them no benefit, and those going for uncommon filetypes it would still be much faster to type than to go through a huge list of every possible file extension
