Unable to Download with Primary

Hi guys I have decided to setup a Primary Connection and I followed the help.  I have the ports opened and it connects and other people can download from me but all my files go in to a queu but I can not download it just turns red when that happens.  Anybody have any ideas?

can i ask where you got 3.54 from? if it wasn't www.winmxgroup.com then the first thing i would suggest is getting a copy from there & deleting any incompletes you may have, this will eliminate the possibility that what you're trying to download are fake files.

Did you allow winmx in any firewalls you have?
Check the windows firewall specificially.

do you have a NAT router? as that also needs to be configured when setting winmx to use inbound connections

Lately I did not use much the downloader, It has been some days now that I try and have always the problem of the primary connection not functioning, while the secondary is OK. I even downloaded the whole system again, but in vain. I noticed that it is always S=0, while P and spm have a value. Can you tell me what is going on? Maybe the ennemies of the free downloading have won a battle? Should we do something? Maybe an update?

If you cant get primary to work correctly there is nothing wrong with using secondary.  On that note there is no way anything is wrong with the Network just the opposite.. things are great.

You may have a problem with ports or maybe not.  If your S=0 thats good.. it doesnt mean things are not working.. those numbers should however, raise after about a half hour to hour.  If your uploads are working, and you get a Chat list loaded on primary its working.  If they do not work then you need to figure out way, and we would need to know

What version of WinMX are you using?
What hardware do you have router or Modems?  Name and models please
What patch you are on?
What Operating system?
What antivirus or firewalls do you have installed?

I cannot download when s=0, not at all. My uploads are OK . I looked over my ports and I fixed my changed IP. That is how I managed to make my uploads going but I could not manage the ingoing ports, don't know why. I did not have any problem until a week or so...I owe you some of the greatest downloads in my life. The version is 3,54beta4 (is there a newer one?) I have a router (speedtouch 530) but I have had it for some years now, without a problem. Patch I'm on is 3,0. Op sys is XP NOD32 is my antivirus. But with all these the system was working OK. Nothing at my knowledge has changed so that I should have a problem..

If your uploads are working and you get a chat list then its not you, it must be the users your trying from.. do me a favor and come to the chat room

On WinMX click the Chat Button, then say yes when the warning prompts, then copy and paste the following name into the 'Filter Bar'

Please be sure there are no extra spaces on the end when you paste it and then click the 'Join' button to the far right.  When you arrive please look for Lady Ray or ask folks to let you test the downloads from them.  This way we can see whats going on.. most the time WinMX will allow downloads at all times.. whether ports are set ot not.


Yes the 3.54 beta 4 is the most stable and lastest WinMX.

I did exactly what you told me and waiting for the results though I did not understand why in the name of God would someone in the winmx would not want to give me any files.. It is the first time so I am rather suspicious for some technical problem. Because I repeat I do not have any downloading problem with the secondary connection./ And no uploading problem with either connection...

Al you came into the room.. however you didnt try to download from me like I asked you there.. so I couldnt test anything.  I could also NOT get a Whois which would indicate that yes you have a problem.  So what id like you to do is go here:

input your ports and see that the test tells you please.

Sorry I did not understand what I had to do with the chat room. I just did the test though and it said that my ports are open and everything should be ok with the chat and the searches, which is not true. I cannot do any searches with the primary.

Well after a very busy day with your help and your 3,1 patch I turned in a total inability to have any WinMX installation especially on my laptop, where I did not have any problem at all! And you cannot explain a thing.. Am I to what,now? Or is it a temporary problem in the server? Am I too dum to ask such questions?
