UK based WinMX Friendly ISP

Hello all,

Having found out that my ISP (Talk Talk) was throttling Win MX I have given them the boot. Have narrowed it down to 2 ISP's and wondered if anyone could confirm that they are on these and dowloading/uploading without issue.

using bulldog here no probs d/loading running rooms or bots but they just been taken over by pipex although they say there still gonna be independant from them but time will tell

I would quit the Internet and move to another country (again) before I would ever take a bulldog line.. they were (for us) the most horrible ISP ever known to man.. cut us off for over a month with no explanations, no one knew why (bills were all paid) and wouldnt turn it back on.. strangely enough this was 3 weeks after receiving a letter from them stating they were no longer taking on new residential customers..

Do me a favor and try to avoid them.. Ive know there are some folks that have a good experience with them.. but for every one of them there are at least 5 i know that had horrible times with them.

Were still fighting over lost revenue due to paying while offline..

As Sam posted my BT Business Account testimonial is on that thread and I'm still 100% happy with my service from them..

a word of caution regarding satellite providers (applicable everywhere) because bandwidth costs them more than those using telephone lines or cables, they are THE most likely providers to use traffic shaping to prevent use of p2p applications such as winmx

i not had no probs with bulldog yet me here pipex were a pain in the ass n cost me fortunes and a lot of ppl complained in our room about tiscalli i think its all just a lottery to be honest some good some bad experiances

If you can get Cable they don't seem to bother about P2P at least noone that i know has had any problems with Telewest although I don't know too much about NTL and they have just taken over

blueyonder, now known as telewest, or NTL telewest, dont so far throttle any p2p, or block services.. ther cheap too

great isp   comes with upto 24meg down and 1.5 meg up   cost of  £24 a month with no hidden charges (there internet providers only not telephone)
also comes with a free easy to install and use wireless router
i moved to these from bulldog (after pipex took them over) and have had amazing results with winmx on several 1000's of ports i have tested

Hey, i have been on ntl for 4 years now with no problems. They arent that cheap compared to others. But for what you get its worth it. And they have recently upgraded everyone. I was on 2mb and the phone. for 24.99 a month. Now i'm on 4 mb and the phone for 24.99 a month. Its great. The speed is ok.

I had 1 trouble but that was the actual internet box. Mine was faulty. They replaced it with a new one. And everything has been fine ever since. So id say ntl are good for internet.
