There seem to be more and more users who refuse to share ie 0 of 0 available but they are quite happy to get in the queues of those of us who do. I now ignore them all as soon as I see the of 0 available I wont Share or Trade with those who don't want to share with others Winmx is a P2P file SHAREING program those who don't want to share are IMHO in the wrong place. What do others here think on this subject.

Hello, Yes.. i would agree completly.. i myself, and many other users have used this patch.. myself.. i use it because i host a room and need to save my bandwith.. but i dont downloaad so i aint reli a leace.. people who do that, and download ect.. then yes.. thats not really fair..
most people i guess use this patch to stop leeches.. and run winmx moniter (as my mum does) i host a room and need to save bandwith so my room is lag free.. others maybe have little bandwith and slow connections..

i'm in no way saying this is a good or a bad thing that people use 0 of 0 uploads.. but for some people its handy..

This is just my personal feeling.. so dont go saying its the views of WMW but..

I will upload anyday to ppl with 0 files shared, I often messege them when I can and talk to them nicely about sharing and try to inform them. I find most ppl with 0 files are scared to share or dont know how. However, anyone with the 0 of 0 hack (not patch.. hack) gets immediatly ingnored. I am not saying anything to you James i know a few others that use this for special reasons but in general ppl using the 0 of 0 upload hack are real leeches. They only want to pick and choose who they share with. If its that bad unshare your files, or lower your outgoing bandwidth to 9000 and set the limit to one. But anywayz.. just my opinion...

Sometimes messaging works most of the time for me it does not

I do keep mxmoniter off for a few hours at a time so that people with 0 shared do get the chance to have some files to share and I can message them to start sharing... It's always better to give to people rather than to take... So sort of I work on that principle.
Even with mxmoniter on, I have need just one file at the other end to get started. And believe there are many who feature on the ignore list as they don't even have that one file lol

Have nothing against people with 0 files shared usualy I try to talk to them to see if they are new or don't know how to share my limit is 3 files on mxmon my beef is with people who hack winmx to get 0 of 0 available because they don't want to share their files except with their friends, but are forever trying to get files from me as I have a larger shared collection than most.

what annoys the hell outer me is ppl that change file names and add there room tags then when u try to d/load from them you get a message if you come to blahh blahh room we will start you

WHY SHOULD WE WHEN WE ARE SHARING ANYWAY JEEZZZZZZZZ

I personaly change all file names back to what they are sposed to be for the benefit of ALL users not just the few

Hey, i get this alot.. as i do offer people a start in exchange for them being in my room, most people dont mind.. others r like why.. the way u should look at it is, o wow, he/she only wants me to go in there room and they'll start me, not like u have to upload like mad to traders.. if more people did this, not only would rooms be fuller, but people would activly download more.

file names dont seem to bother me.. unless ther named wrong.. u still get the film

thats just my opinion tho

All you need to do is to change the file name (in the library) once you double click it to start the download.
Going into rooms is just so that people can attract more members.
Plus if they start your download when you enter, it's not exactly like you start me and i'll start you....

i especially agree with Me_Here, people i have seen with the 0 of 0 hack and try d/l off me when i look they have 100 ppl in a que with no intention of sharing, i ignore these ppl, the innocent ppl that do want files are ok.
i host my room on fxs (yes before you laugh) and i use a robo for admin in the room, my mx is on for ppl to d/l off me but o/s the room as this stops lag, and i can bring it in if someone wants to brows me. also i have seen the tagged and renamed files and yes i know someone in a movie room, if u want to be a reg u have their tag & u have to have the 0 of 0 hack so u share only to ppl with that tag, totally unfair i think, i refuse to use that room even though i have a friend there and i even told him to loose the 0 of 0 if he wants to d/l off me & stop being a tight ass leech.

why should they go to any rooms to get a start ? if there shareing files of there own that should be good enough for a start besides if your rooms good enough u dont need to make ppl come in for a start just to bump up your room nos
a lot of ppl that use winmx dont even use the rooms so why if there shareing should they have to ?
After all isnt winmx suposed to be for everyone ?
i have a room but i dont force ppl to use it they do so by choice and because they like the ppl and how the rooms run & our nos average 2100 users + a week perhaps if some of the movie rooms had ppl actualy there chatting they might achieve the same so many of these rooms tell you to go there for a start and when you do nothing, no chat, no start and others tell ppl they got to change there file names and wear tags n crap sorry but i think its lame and not helping winmx at all to recover i have ppl complaining on this issue all the time after all the files didnt start of as "my great movie room king kong avi" did they? so why change them ? it never used to be so on mx so why now? for all the people that use these tactics a good room depends on how much your gonna work at it not some lame named file to try and entice ppl in to a room they dont realy wanna use

It's not that they are not sharing. All of them share and allow people to download. Just that they offer a jump in exchange of coming to the room. They can't start all the people who get on their queues. So they start those who come to their rooms. Plus, quite a few times, I have found some useful stuff visiting such rooms on invite as well.

well i still think its wrong because for whatever reason there still segregating people who are sharing files & none of us can start all the people in our queues, perhaps those of us without tags should penalise those with them & avoid there rooms & see what happens

also its kinda wrong to assume that someone with 0 files is a leech and sending out abusive pms to these people, i have got several of these before and most the time from tagged rooms because of showing 0 files for one reason or another even tho i have not been d/loading eg. on a new pc with no files loaded on to it or after a reformat or when using a public p.c or the pc of a friend. sometimes these people should think that everyone had to start somewhere & at some time we all had 0 files

Sorry SamSeeSam and JaMeS I have to disagree with you about the rooms issue if you have to goto or join a room to get a start why di I find so many of the people saying I have to go to their rooms in my q trying to d/l from me? surely they should be happy to stay in their rooms to find the files they say others have to go to their rooms to share. I don't pay for a fast d/l site and u/l films and apps/games etc from their for others who get the file from me to say to other sharers you have to come to my room for it. ps I have used Fairuse to set the size of some of the films so ican tell if its one I did and lo and behold their it appears in a room and I get told if I dont go to their room I will be ignored for d/l a file I up loaded. Thats got that off my chest now.

This is my thought...i use a server to host my chat room, and also to get and feed the members new releases...I get "X" amount of bandwidth a month. I pay a lot, just to share with those members, and give them great download speed, and usually do not have much bandwidth left over at the end of each month.... and i have never asked anything in return from them.

I also will share with most anyone if they at least have the common courtesy to ask for a start, but I cannot start everyone...and if i limit my speeds, then my members suffer, so, in short, My money I pay, is for my members and those that are thoughtful enough to ask.

My 2 cents....don't slam everyone that has 0 of 0 available until you know the facts as to why they have 0 of 0 available.

The same thing applies to people that are unfortunate enough to have a crappy ISP that limits them to certain amounts of total bandwidth each month...sorry, but they have to pick and choose who they start.

Granted you have a point there path but that is not often the case usualy its ppl trying to force ppl into there rooms
as a sugestion to your own dilema would it not be more prudant to delagate the sharing of popular files in your room perhaps to admins & members with unlimited bandwidth thus freeing up some of your own after all your good enough to host the room for them its the least they can do for you allowing you more bandwidth to download those all important files you require to make your room a sucess

i always find delegating is a hell of a lot better than banging you head against the brick wall we no as caped bandwidth

as a host myself, can i just add, with a third party chatserver, the bandwidth throttles are effective as anti-lag measures, unsharing & 0 of 0 hacks aren't actually required

i think putting an ultimatum on being able to download a file is pretty lame and a pathetic way
to try and gain room members.If somebody told me that i had to come to their room in order
to be able to download the file i'd tell em to stick it up their ass.

path501 Lets put it another way why should I or any one else make files available to you when you don't return the same to us. I also pay a great deal of money for my service ISP and a pay d/l site from where I bring things into winmx i have also hosted rooms in the past I no longer do because I dont have the same u/l speed that I used to have T1 down to Cable and I have never refused to u/l to people who didn't want to come to my room in fact never asked people the room was there for people to use and enjoy.
